The exhibition is part of Van Der Plas Gallery’s All Art+ program, a monthly group show where artists are invited to present their work to the NYC public for one week in response to a given theme. Of Integration asks artists to respond to the theme of unification, where the multiplicity of bodies forms into a diverse whole.

BEST FRIEND ZEN

Roughly 3 years ago, Alabama orthopedist, Dr. Brad Goodman, introduced me to his Best Friend Zen, Dr Zen Hrynkiw, a local neurosurgeon. He afforded me the opportunity to scrub in and observe him preforming a brain surgery among other procedures. During the surgeries, I became fascinated by the imagery being used to navigate human anatomy. These beautiful images projected on large screens inspired me to view the human body at a microscopic level…bringing art to life and life to art. Big thank you to Brad and Zen for sparking my new artistic journey. Stay tuned as I reveal each new piece in the medical series.
